A stainless steel water dish with a rubber non-skid bottom is an excellent choice.

WATER

Your dog needs water all the time . Be sure his water dish is clean and full of fresh water at all times.

VETRINARIAN

Regular visits to the vet are important; especially for puppies. Be sure to get all vaccinations and followup shots.

FOOD

Feed your dog a good quality diet. As much as you may want to give in to begging, 'people food' (table scraps) are not good for your dog. Don't overfeed them either. Ask your vet what the optimum weight is for your dog and feed them accordingly. An overweight pet can lead to serious health issues.

Training Tips

GET OFF TO A GOOD START WITH YOUR NEW PUPPY

GOOD DOG!

Did you know that if you work with your dog just five minutes a day he will be doing tricks or behaviors before you can say "GOOD DOG" ??

BEHAVIOR

Did you know that training goes on all the time ?Even when you don't know it.Often people train bad behavior without even trying.

PUPPIES AND CHEWING

If you bring a new puppy home give it plenty of chew toys to teeth on and pick up shoes and other things you don't want chewed on.They are only puppies for a short time and it is worth your time to have a great dog.

The secret to training dogs or any animal is simply "COMMON SENSE"

TREATS
Treats are an important part of your dogs diet. Choose a good quality (low salt) treat and give them sparingly.

CRATE TRAINING

Always crate train your dog so that it won't be stressed if suddenly you have an emergency and have to put it in a crate for its own safety.

Simple crate training is to put a nice comfy bed in side and leave the crate in the area you spend most of your time.Leave the door open and place the dogs treats in the back of the crate. The dog will go in for the treat and might lay down on the bed.Do not close the door until the dog becomes very comfy inside. This may be days. When you see that it is comfy you can close the door and give a treat through the door.Open the door after a few minutes.Repeat this process regularly. You will know when the dog is ok with the crate.Remember that dogs are den animals they will probably curl up in the farthest corner. The crate should be big enough for the dog to stand up and turn around.
